Grandaddy Mimm’s Distilling Co, located in downtown Blairsville is the largest distillery in North Georgia. It’s owned by country musician Tommy Townsend, who uses family recipes passed down by his grandfather Jack McClure, a notorious bootlegger in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They offer tastings of their potent moonshine, vodka, and Georgia whiskey, with 8 samples for around $5.
And be sure not to miss their Music & Moonshine festival this summer!

This court is easily accessible and provides an excellent venue for all skill levels. It’s also a great spot for families, with plenty of amenities nearby to ensure a fun and active day out.
Hiawassee's Lake Chatuge Pickleball Court
For those who appreciate a scenic backdrop, the pickleball court by Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee is a must-visit. Nestled by the beautiful lake, this court not only offers competitive play but also stunning views that enhance your playing experience. It’s an ideal location for visitors who want to combine their love of pickleball with the natural beauty of North Georgia.
Tournaments and Events
Both courts are competition-ready and host several exciting tournaments throughout the year. One notable event is the "Picklin’ for a Cause" tournament, scheduled for September 20-22. This tournament is not just about the game; it supports a wonderful cause. Proceeds go to the Union County Recreation Department’s Webster Fund, which helps young kids participate in various sports programs. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy competitive play while contributing to the community.
