North Georgia Cabins

Seven places to stay on one wooded mountain property: six private cabins and a four-room lodge, ten minutes from downtown Blairsville and twenty-one miles from Helen.

The Short Version

One property, seven very different places to sleep

Most North Georgia cabin rentals are a single cabin at the end of a long gravel road, booked through a platform that has never seen it. Misty Mountain is the other thing: six private cabins and a main lodge spread across one family-owned mountain property in Blairsville's Trackrock Valley, all within walking distance of each other, all managed by the same family who lives here.

That matters if you're booking for more than two people. You can take one cabin, take three next to each other, or take the whole mountain. Nobody has to caravan between addresses, and there's one phone number to call when the wifi acts up.

Below is every cabin side by side: how many it sleeps, which ones take dogs, which ones have stairs, and what each one is actually best at. If you already know what you need, jump to the comparison table. If you don't, the picker will sort you out in about thirty seconds.

Traveling With a Dog

Four Pet-Friendly Cabins in North Georgia

Four of the six cabins take dogs: Hikers Haven, Dragonfly, Mountain Rose Escape, and Serenity Cottage. Dancing Bear, Trailside Retreat, and the Lodge are pet-free, so guests with allergies have somewhere to land too.

The policy is short. Up to two dogs per cabin. A one-time $50 dog fee that covers both, and isn't charged again on future stays as long as there's no damage or extra cleaning. A short pet waiver before you arrive. That's the whole thing.

What actually makes it work is the ground: twenty wooded acres with walking trails, a pond, and open space to throw a ball, instead of a cabin on a half-acre lot where the dog goes out on a leash and comes straight back in.

  • Up to 2 dogs per cabin, one-time $50 fee covering both
  • Not charged again on return stays, absent damage or extra cleaning
  • Walking trails, a pond, and open ground on the property
  • ADA service animals welcome everywhere, including the Lodge

Before You Book

North Georgia Cabin Questions, Answered

Which cabins at Misty Mountain are pet-friendly?

Four of the six: Hikers Haven, Dragonfly, Mountain Rose Escape, and Serenity Cottage. Each takes up to two dogs on a one-time $50 fee that covers both and isn't charged again on future stays, absent damage or extra cleaning. Dancing Bear, Trailside Retreat, and the Lodge are pet-free. ADA service animals are welcome everywhere.

Which cabin is the easiest to get into?

Serenity Cottage. It's a first-floor studio, all on one level with flat access, and you park right by the door. Every other cabin has stairs of some kind, either inside for a loft or second story, or outside on the approach or porch. If steps are a real concern for someone in your party, call us before booking and we'll describe the approach exactly.

How many people can stay at Misty Mountain?

Individual cabins sleep two to six. Renting the entire property gets you seventeen bedrooms across the lodge and all six cabins, for up to thirty guests on one reservation. The whole property starts at $1,450 a night.

How much do the cabins cost per night?

Cabins and cottages start at $125 a night, lodge rooms at $145, the entire lodge at $475, and the entire property at $1,450. Rates move with the season and the cabin, so the booking calendar is the real answer.

What is the minimum stay?

Two nights on all dates except some holidays. If there's availability close to your date we'll sometimes consider a single night, so it's worth a phone call.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is after 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out are available for a fee when we can manage it, and complimentary for returning guests who book direct, subject to availability.

How far is Misty Mountain from Helen and Blue Ridge?

Helen is about 21 miles, Hiawassee about 10, downtown Blairsville about 10 minutes, and Blue Ridge is under an hour. Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point, is roughly a ten-minute drive.

Are the cabins close together or spread out?

Every cabin is within walking distance of the others, which is why groups book two or three side by side. They're spaced far enough apart that you're not sharing a porch with anyone.
